“If somebody’s going to smoke a joint in their house and not do anybody any harm, then perhaps there are other things our cops should be looking at to engage in and try to clean up some of the other problems we have in society,” said, of all people, former Alaskan Governor, Tea Party Patriot Sarah Palin!
Yep, Palin was talking about weed with Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex) on the Fox Business Network last night along with other respresentatives from their movement in what they call the Tea Party Summit; a discussion about how they view certain sensitive issues, one of ‘em being weed. Palin has said she has smoked weed in the past but didn’t really dig it and doesn’t smoke anymore. “I can’t claim a Bill Clinton and say that I never inhaled,” she told the Anchorage Daily News in 2006.
Anyhow, even though she’s not pro legalization, she’s definitely for decriminalizing weed. “Law enforcement should not focus its energy on the minimal problem of marijuana,” she continued. “I’m not for the legalization of pot,” Palin said. “I think that would just encourage our young people to think that it was OK to go ahead and use it. However I think we need to prioritize our law enforcement efforts,” she said. Around 6:45 in the talking heads video below is when she starts discussing her pot points.
