marijuana crystals for real

My cousin just woke me up with worry about a type of weed that she smoked. She was very scared about the feelings she was getting. She said it had green crystals in the joint. It caused her to have hot and cold flushes and muscle spasms. Is this normal? What are the green crystals? I’ve smoked weed before, but never heard of these after affects.
