On Veterans Day tomorrow National Veterans’ organizations will be lobbying at the gates of the White House for recognition of medicinal cannabis as a form of treatment for war trauma, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). And get this—they’ll be tossing out thousands of empty prescription pill bottles at the nation’s capital in protest. According to a press release we just received, those empty bottles were collected from their brothers and sisters across the country in memory of those whose sacrifices did not end on the battlefield. The veterans and several national activists organizations involved look to boost the awareness of the dangerous pharmaceutical medications they are often prescribed to treat their war trauma. They also seek to bring attention about being unjustly deprived of their gentle, effective and natural medicine of choice: MARIJUANA.

With 22 United States veterans committing suicide each day, reads the press release, it’s time to take a closer look at giving vets the right to choose their own path for treatment upon returning home.
