I’ve reviewed the Gorilla Glue from Top Shelf here, where I also talk about the genetics. So we’ll skip that. If you haven’t read it, it’s definitely an interesting story. For this review, I’m more interested in comparing the GG from one farm to the other. It still blows my mind how subtle differences in how the plant is grown will produce different properties in the plant. Different phenotypes if you will.
Appearance and Feels: So sticky, these buds are looking exceptionally dank. Don’t take my word for it though, peep these pictures! The calyx is a lighter shade of green with darker leaves, all covered in trichomes and dark orange pistils. Fire for sure.
Smell: Sweet and skunky with a little bit of spice to give it a nice kick. The terpenes deliver a smell that isn’t that profound, but it definitely smells like something I want to smoke on all day long in a warm breezy park.
Flavor: A crisp, clean, skunky smoke that tingles the throat and puts a smile on the face of anyone getting in on the session. It tastes like good weed, nothing too special or out of the ordinary here. I’m once again going to chalk up the lack of any major taste or smell to the packaging in plastic canisters and the harvest date. Maybe I’m just getting old and my taste buds are shot.
High: Great head change right to the ol dome. As with all strains you might come across that test over 20%, if you are new to smoking cannabis, take it easy with this one. It’s stuff stoners like for sure. I was smoking this out of my tear drop barter faire pipe, but then switched it up to bong rips out of the new turbo perc. It rips smooth but hits strong. Definitely stuff stoners like.
Overall: This is the first strain I’ve reviewed that actually has it’s own website. GorillaGlue4.com, or at least the first one that has come up in any of my google searching. The Gorilla is definitely a high powered strain that gets a spot up in the top shelf. It’s stoney and spry with a nice relaxation that whispers, “Video games.” Of course that’s just my experience in this reality field. Yours may vary. But I’m sure there’s something we can all agree on, and that’s the Gorilla Glue is some stoney stuff stoners like.
For SSL, I’m Mat Lee.
