OG Kush35 most popular weed strains on Leafly

There are a ton of weed strains out there. Seems like new strains of weed are created every day. And there’s a new list of the best weed strains coming from High Times magazine each week. Easy. Use Google. That’s what we did to determine the 35 most searched for weed strains on Leafly—basically a gigantic weed database that dominates the interwebs. Anyhow weed strains lists are usually based on subjectivity not this one—we used software. By looking at Leafly’s most popular pages we were able to determine the most popular weed strains based on search volume…or how many people search for that particular strain of weed each month.

OG Kush Strain Review
This is an OG Kush for all OG Kush fans

Top 35 most popular weed strains on leafly:

1. OG Kush

There are a ton of Kush strains out there. From Bubba Kush, to Purple Kush to Zoey Kush, but according to Google OG Kush is leafly’s most popular strain. It’s a cross of Chemdawg X Hindu Kush X Lemon Thai. We’ve reviewed OG Kush several times. Here’s our first OG Kush review, second OG Kush review and third OG Kush review.

What Does OG Mean? There’s some great internet lore around the origins of the OG Kush strain. The most coherent is on Seedfinder. It lists two different stories about the origin of the mighty OG Kush, the longer of the two says:

In late ’93 John from Grass Valley Ca. got the Chem Dog cut. He shared it with me, Jerry(cowboy) from Dibble Creek Ca. and Harold(Putz) from Sunset Beach Ca. Putz had a male he called the secret ingredient. It was a cross of Lemon Thai and an Old World Paki Kush. Putz bred the secret ingredient to the Chem Dog. The buds that came out of this cross were going around So. L.A. county in ’95. Someone told Putz that Kush must be so good because it was mountain grown. Putz laughed and told him “this Kush is Ocean Grown Kush bro”.

2. Blue Dream

The Blue Dream strain is a cross between Blueberry from the legendary DJ Short and Super Silver Haze from Mr. Nice. Blue Dream weed is a
50/50 Hybrid. It was once a clone only strain from California. For a while the Bay Area (and the office of Stuff Stoners Like) was crawling with Blue Dream cuts. Nowadays Blue Dream seeds are available online from Humboldt Seeds. Blue Dream is always a good weed strain to keep around because of its soothing effects. Our First Blue Dream review scored some pretty high marks. Our second Blue Dream review came from some Blue Dream we scored from Grower’s Outlet up in Oregon. Mat Lee, our weed reviewer extraordinaire gave it an 8/10. We also reviewed the Double Blue Dream strain and Snoop’s Blue Dream weed strain. All Stuff Stoners Like.

3. Trainwreck

Trainwreck is another famous weed strain that’s steeped in mythology. Many say that the Trainwreck strain is originally from Arcata, CA grown on a hillside near the site of some nasty summer-time trainwreck back in the 60’s. Some say it’s a product of two brothers from the 80s. And, a few think Tupac’s alive. But, really who gives a damn shit, right? Here’s our first Trainwreck weed review. We scored this stuff from the Berkeley’s Patients Group in California. Our second Tranwreck strain review came from Mat Lee up in Washington. Lee also did a review of a Tranwreck weed strain called Blackberry Trainwreck a Blackberry Kush crossed with Trainwreck. We’ve got out eye out for some Purple Trainwreck to review since we love purple weed of any kind especially something mixed with the legendary Trainwreck.

Girl Scout Cookies Weed
Platinum Girl Scout Cookies weed grown by Seattle’s Private Reserve is some pretty decent stuff

4. Girl Scout Cookies

If you’re looking for gluten free Girl Scout Cookies you can’t go wrong with the Girl Scout Cookies strain. But which one? Do a little Google research on Girl Scout Cookies weed and you’ll find out that there’s many different cuts and phenotypes that you might never know exactly which one you have. But it seems our boy Mat Lee got his hands on some real-deal Girl Scout Cookies weed billed as Platinum Girl Scout Cookies apparently. He found it up in the great Pacific Northwest and was amazed by it’s frosty-covered goodness. We’ve also reviewed a ton of Girl Scout Cookies strain offshoots. Chem Scout was basically Girl Scout Cookies crossed with Chem 9, Animal Cookies which is Girl Scout Cookies crossed with Fire OG, Blue Sugar Cookies which is probably Girl Scout Cookies X Cherry Pie, Blue Cookies, and Thin Mint Cookies which is GSC crossed with F1 Durban [Durban Poison x F1] and OG Kush genetics.

5. Sour Diesel

Sour Diesel is typically dark green with long brownish orange hairs and exceptionally frosty. The Sour Diesel strain has a unmistakable diesel aroma with fruity piney undertones. Sour D tastes bomb—piney with diesel and fruity and earthy overtones. There’s also a deep hit of citrus especially lemon in Sour Diesel weed. It delivers a mellow and hazy head high that calming and relaxing. We scored some Sour Diesel clones and the plants were awesome. If you can’t find clones Sour Diesel seeds are available online. We’ve got our eyes out for Super Sour Diesel for review.

6. Purple Haze

Purple Haze probably gets its name from a Jimi Hendrix song. He definitely had a penchant for pot. The Purple Haze strain is an alleged cross of Purple Thai and Haze both sativa staples. Purple Haze weed tastes like a a mix of sweet and earthy flavors with notes of berry and sharp spice. It delivers a high-energy, almost electric, cerebral high. Perfect for smoking during the day or to invoke creativity. If you love purple weed, the Purple Haze strain is a good one to keep around.

7. White Widow

White Widow is a hybrid cross of a Brazilian Sativa landrace strain and a super resin-heavy South Indian Indica strain. The White Widow strain is a classic originating in the early 90s in Amsterdam. Shantibaba, now with Mr Nice Seeds, was a partner in Greenhouse Seed Company along with Arjan, where White Widow weed was developed. The two ultimately parted ways and White Widow seeds are available all over from Sensi seed bank to Royal Queen Seeds. White Widow marijuana buds are typically coated in lush white crystals. We’d love to find some White Widow Kush to review but so far we’ve not found it, we have however reviewed a White Widow weed offshoot called Berry White, a cross Blueberry X White Widow. Anyhow if you like resinous weed, you’ll dig the White Widow strain.

Green Queen Strain
Cross Space Queen with Green Crack and you have Green Queen

8. Green Crack

Green Crack, as the story goes, was developed in the 1970s and was originally known as Cush (not to be confused with Kush). It was renamed Green Crack Kush, supposedly by Snoop Dogg, and eventually shortened to Green Crack. It’s become a favorite with medical patients and recreational users alike. Green Crack weed tastes fruity and sweet delivering a strongly uplifting high with plenty of pain and stress relief. One of ourr weed experts scored some Platinum Green Crack from True Compassion Collective in Sacramento, CA and gave it an 8.5/10.  thought it was just okay. We scored a pack of Green Crack seeds and grew the weed to perfection. Our homegrown Green Crack marijuana  had a slight smell of something sweet and earthy with subtle pine highlights and tasted slightly grassy with sweet citrus on the exhale. Despite it’s silly name the Green Crack strain is definitely Stuff Stoners Like.

9. Granddady Purple

Granddaddy Purple, sometimes called Grand Daddy Purp was originally Introduced in 2003 by Ken Estes, Granddaddy Purple. It’s a famous Indica cross between Purple Urkle and Big Bud. Grand Daddy Purp is a staple in California especially in Oakland where purp weed is king. Grand Daddy Purple inherits a complex grape and berry aroma from its Purple Urkle parent. Because of the Big Bud lineage a grand Daddy Purple yield can be tremendous. Covered in white crystal resin Granddady Purple delivers a fusion of cerebral euphoria and physical relaxation. Like most heavy Indica varieties, Granddaddy Purple is a great strain to treat pain, stress, insomnia, appetite loss and muscle spasms. We scored a pack of Granddaddy Purple seeds online. The plants were beautiful—huge, stinky and very vpurple. If you like the purp you can’t go wrong with Granddaddy Purple.

10. Pineapple Express

The Pineapple Express strain is Hawaiian, possibly the famed Maui Wowie crossed with Trainwreck. It looks and feels like some of the bomb-est weed around, says our weed guy Mat Lee who reviewed some choice Pineapple Express weed from a buddy up in Washington. We had a chance to get this particular Pineapple Express sample analyzed for cannabinoids and terpenes by our friends at the Werc Shop. Click here to see the actual PDF. Mat says, picture in your mind the ideal looking bud and you’ve got Pineapple Express. From the structure, to the color, to the calyx to leaf ratio Pineapple Express weed is all on point. It’s dense, sticky, with both light and dark green parts and totally covered in frosty trichome goodness. Typically the Pineapple Express strain has a wicked tropical, sweet, sour and spicy aroma. It’s got a flavor profile that keeps on giving. Pineapple Express weed is definitely stuff stoners like. The Pineapple Express movie? Not so much.

11. Northern Lights

Northern Lights is one of the most famous strains of all time. It’s a near pure Indica strain (95/5) that delivers fat resinous buds. The Northern Lights strain is a descendant of Afghani and Thai landrace strains. In fact Northern Lights has given rise to famous hybrids like Sour Diesel and Super Silver Haze. We reviewed Super Silver Haze and it was killer. So you know it’s parents have to be fire. Rumor has it that the Northern Lights strain originated in Holland in1985 at what is now Sensi Seeds. There’s a great story on Seedsman.com about the origins of Northern Lights.
Northern Lights weed tastes skunky and kushy at the same time with a pungently sweet, spicy aroma. The Northern Lights strain is coated in crystals and sometimes has some purple to it. Being an Indica dominant strain it’s a great for relaxation. If you dig deep relaxation—we’re talking couchlock quality—Northern Lights weed is perfect.

AK-47 Weed
This AK-47 is a sativa dominant strain with 16.59% THC

12. AK-47

AK 47 weed is a sativa-dominant hybrid mix of four great landraces from all across the world; Colombia, Mexico, Thailand and Afghanistan. The AK 47 strain was born around 1992, created by Serious Seeds. It was reworked in 1999 for some seed issues. The AK 47 strain delivers a nice uplifting heady high, which you would expect from a plant that has three Sativas and one Indica in it’s lineage. It smells a bit earthy with hints of sweet and sour fruit. We had a chance to get a batch of AKA 47 analyzed by our friends at the Werc Shop. Click here to see the actual PDF. It’s definitely a classic crowd pleaser. We also reviewed AK 48 which is an AK 47 phenotype.

13. Bubba Kush

Some say Bubba Kush came from OG Kush crossed with West Coast Dog and Old World Kush. All of which are strong indicas. There’s also a bunch of different strains going around using the Bubba Kush name. Things lik Bubblegum and Kush strain crosses such as Bubble Kush or Bubblegum Kush—a little different than what we’re talking about here. There’s also Pre 98 Bubba Kush. Our weed expert did a great review that traces the history of Pre 98 Bubba. And of course there’s always Platinum Bubba Kush. We’re searching for that to review. Anyhow Bubba Kush is Indica dominant and produces some pretty heavy tranquilizing effects. The story on this strain of weed say it’s of Afghani descent. The breeder who The Bubba Kush strain was named after says that Bubba Kush emerged just after 1996 when an OG Kush hybrid pollinated an unknown Indica strain from New Orleans. The mother plant was allegedly Northern Lights, but the genetically ambiguous indica was simply called Bubba. Bubba Kush has flourished from its California roots ever since.

14. Headband

The Headband strain is OG Kush crossed with Sour Diesel. The buds are tight and wrapped in beautiful frosty trichome goodness. Headband weed has that classic Kush taste with what seems to be some almost creamy coffee tasting jet fuel on the exhale. Head band has a nice hit of spice, citrus and pine along with some earthy aroma. Sometimes called Headband Kush, The Headband marijuana strain is said to create a slight pressure around the crown of their head as if you’re wearing a headband. Our buds grew some awesome 707 Headband from Humboldt Seed Organization last year and hooked us up with this great Headband strain review. Because we love purple weed so much we’ve got our eyes set on reviewing a sample of a Purple Headband Strain. Anyhow the Headband weed strain is definitely stuff stoners like.

15. Purple Kush

Of all the purp weed out there Purple Kush is our absolute favorite. That’s because like our blog Purple Kush weed is straight outta Oakland California. We’ve always grown Purple Kush. We picked up cuts years ago, but Purple Kush seeds are available online. Anyhow the Purple Kush strain a is pure Indica. It’s a cross between Hindu Kush and Purple Afghani. It’s aroma is pure heaven—like grape candy with subtle earthy sweetness. Purple Kush delivers blissful, long-lasting euphoria  and a nice body stone. Purple OG Kush is definitely stuff stoners like.

Deep Purple Kush Strain
Deep Purple Kush has dark deep looking colas smothered in trichomes

16. Blue Cheese

Blue Cheese weed is an Indica cross. It’s the combination of a Blueberry male with an original U.K. Cheese (a Skunk #1 phenotype) female. The Blue Cheese strain is very aromatic. It smells woodsy, moldy, fruity and dank—imagine the aroma of a fat Crimini mushroom and an over-ripe blueberry shoved into the middle of a block of Gorgonzola. Close your eyes and Blue Cheese weed almost smells like the inside of Disneyland’s pirate’s of the Caribbean. The Blue Cheese weed strain delivers heavy, relaxing Indica effects. If you fancy a cheese strain we recommend Blue Cheese weed.

17. Grape Ape

The Grape Ape strain is a mostly Indica cross of Mendocino Purps, Skunk, and Afghani. It was created by Apothecary Genetics and Barney’s Farm. Most say that the original Grape Ape strain is Afghani X Skunk #1 but there’s also rumblings of the GDP and the Urkle also being in the genetic mix. Probably something similar to what we saw in the Querkle strain we reviewed. Grape-ape weed is tight, dense and compact with a nice frost and tinges of purple. In a bong or a joint Grape Ape weed tastes sweet, and oh so grapey—with some subtle earthy hints to it. Plus the mighty Grape Ape strain is stoney as all get out. Just like the old-school Grape Ape cartoon, Grape Ape weed is stuff stoners like.

18. Mr. Nice

The Mr. Nice weed strain is a cross between the legendary G13 strain and Hash Plant. It’s named after a major marijuana smuggler named Howard Marks, an Oxford graduate who chronicled his days smuggling the chron in an autobiography entitled “Mr. Nice” after doing time in federal prison. Mr Nice weed is an Indica dominant  strain that delivers a mellow high with a sweet smell and even sweeter taste.

19. Durban Poison

The Durban Poison strain is stuff of legend. It’s a pure sativa originating from the South African port city of Durban. Durbin Poison is chunky, and absolutely coated in over-sized trichomes. It tastes as sweet as it smells and delivers electric energizing effects. Durban Poison weed is perfect day time weed. We’ve tried F1 Durban which is Durban Poison x F1 and it’s awesome. We haven’t yet had a chance to put together a Durban Poison review but it’s definitely on the list. We scored some Durban Poison seeds recently and will be popping them soon.

20. White Rhino

The White Rhino is a wonderful white weed strain originating from places like  Afghanistan, Brazil and India. Apparently the White Rhino strain is a hybrid of White Widow and an unknown North American Indica strain. White Rhino weed  delivers a strong and heady high. Like a lot of the white weed strains out there White Rhino is encrusted in frosty white crystals. That’s why she has such a high THC content. The White Rhino strain is definitely stuff stoners like. Stay tuned for a White Rhino Strain review soon, we called up our favorite marijuana delivery service and that shit’s on it’s way.

21. Bruce Banner

The Bruce Banner strain was created by Delta9 Labs. It’s a cross between OG Kush and Strawberry Diesel and obviously named after the alter-ego of comic book hero The Incredible Hulk. Dude had a really bad temper. He’d probably be in a lot better mood all the time if he had some Bruce Banner weed to smoke. That’s because the Bruce Banner strain is a strong sativa that provides plenty of head high with a ton of body relaxation and pain relief. Bruce Banner weed is availble in three main phenotypes, one of which is Bruce Banner #3. We’ve been looking to review Bruce Banner #3 for quite awhile but haven’t come across it in the Bay Area yet. Anyhow Bruce Banner weed has that familiar diesel aroma with some sweet undertones. The taste? Stuff stoners like for sure.

22. Skywalker OG

Skywalker OG is the weed you are looking for. It’s a potent indica-dominant hybrid strain named after the Jedi Luke Skywalker. And this shit will take you to a galaxy far, far away. Someitimes called og skywalker, skywalker OG is a cross between Skywalker weed and OG Kush. This skywalker strain has the strong aroma characteristic to kush with spicy herbs and jet fuel. We hear there’s also a skywalker kush floating around out there that we’d love to review. Anyhow when it comes to out of this world strains of weed the Skywalker OG strain is definitely one to keep around.

Chernobyl grown by Stuff Stoners Like
Chernobyl grown by Stuff Stoners Like

23. Chernobyl

We used to specialize in growing the Chernobyl strain. It’s a very hearty plant that’s pretty pest and mold resistant. Chernobyl was originally bred by TGA Subcool seeds. The breeder Subcool has always talked about selecting strains because of their particular flavor—not vigor or size. That’s why Chernobyl tastes and smells so amazing—just like a lemon lime slurpee. We hear Chernobyl is a cross between Train Wreck, Jack the Ripper and Trinity. We’ve also heard that there’s traces of Space Queen and Jacks Cleaner in the genetics. Chernobyl is a sativa-dominant strain that delivers a long lasting cerebral high and nice body stone. It’s great for day or night.

24. Master Kush

There are tons of Kush strains out there. What stoner doesn’t dig kush weed? One of the best however is Master Kush. The Master Kush strain is an Indica crossof two landrace strains from different parts of the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan. Master Kush was originally bred by the Dutch White Label Seed Company in Amsterdam. Master Kush weed has a subtle earthy, citrus smell with a hint of incense—often described as a vintage flavor. The taste of the Master Kush strain is said to be reminiscent of the famous hard-rubbed charas hash. Like most Kush strains Master Kush delivers an even mix of full-body and mental relaxation. If you’re looking to pop some Kush seeds or we recommend Master Kush or it’s cousin OG Master Kush (Master Kush crossed with OG).

25. Maui Wowie

There are only 13 letters in the Hawaiian alphabet and about the same amount of ways to spell this popular pot strain. We’ve seen Maui Wowie,  Maui Waui, Maui Wowi, Mowie Wowie, but not matter how ya spell it, Maui Wowie is definitely stuff stoners like. maui wowie originated from Hawaii and contains some amazing tropical flavors—especially pineapple—and fruity aromas. Maybe it’s that rich volcanic soil that gives the Maui Waui strain it’s distinct character. Being a full-on sativa a Maui Waui weed plant is typically tall and lanky best suited for cultivation in warm, tropical climates. If you grow some maui waui weed indoors make sure you’ve got rich soil and plenty of headroom. Speaking of headroom this strains lightweight sativa effects are prefect for stimulating creativity without too much of that sativa raciness.

26. G13

The G13 strain is the stuff of legend. Or complete bullshit. Some say that G13 weed was created by the CIA, FBI, NIDA and other agencies who gathered the best weed strains from breeders all over the world. Then they created the super-potent G13 strain at the University of Mississippi in the late 1960s. Allegedly a cutting was eventually smuggled out by an undercover stoner. We saw the weed given to Irv Rosenfeld by the federal government. That’s no bullshit. This guy has been getting pot grown by the government at Ol Miss for decades. Only problem? It’s bunk as fuck—dry, brittle and pretty much ineffective. He told us he unrolls each joint collects all the weed and puts it in a baggie with a piece of lettuce to re-hydrate it. he then re-rolls it and smokes about 10 joints a day. Is this stuff the legendary G13 strain? We sure hope not because it sucked ass.

Jack Herer weed
Jack Herer weed is named after Jack Herer the person.

27. Jack Herer

The Jack Herer strain a famous sativa-dominant plant named after the famous marijuana activist and author of The Emperor Wears No Clothes; Jack Herer. Don’t misspell dude’s name. It’s not Jack Herrer. Only a single r. Anyhow Jack Herer weed is much like the Jack Herer person, highly effective. The Jack Here strain delivering a blissful, clear-headed. Jack Herer seeds are available from Sensi Seeds. They created the Jack Herer strain by combining a Haze hybrid with a Northern Lights #5 and Shiva Skunk cross in the Netherlands during the mid-1990s They were looking to combine the cerebral high of Sativas with the heavy resin production of Indicas. Its rich genetic background gives rise to several different variations of Jack Herer, each phenotype bearing its own unique features and effects that are all stuff stoners like.

28. Fruity Pebbles

The Fruity Pebbles strain is a cross between Green Ribbon, Granddaddy Purple, and Tahoe Alien. It has a very nice earthy fruit smell to it, says our weed smoking expert Mat Lee. As you might expect by the name, Fruity Pebbles weed tastes like a bowl of sinfully sweet tropical, berry cereal. Sit back, relax, and pour yourself a bowl of Fruity Pebbles! Mat also says that the Fruity Pebbles strain gives off a ton of citrus aroma. Open a bag of Fruity Pebbles and it’s like getting pummeled with oranges he claims. Sometimes referred to as Fruity Pebbles OG, the strain was created by Alien Genetics as a limited-time offering. Glad Fruity Pebbles weed stuck around because the stuff is pure stuff stoners like.

29. Chemdawg

According to Lefly, Chemdawg has developed quite the name for itself over the years. Between its mysterious origin, ambiguous genetics, and the plethora of successful crosses the strain has produced, Chemdawg has practically secured itself a permanent place in the cannabis hall of fame. We couldn’t agree more. Sometimes written as Chem Dog or Chem Dawg, not matter how ya spell it, Chemdawg genetics are the basis of powerhouse pot strains like Sour Diesel and OG Kush as well as OG Chem (ChemDawg X OG Kush) and StarDawg (Chemdawg 4 X Tres Dawg). Chemdawg has a few close phenotypes, Chemdawg 91 and Chemdawg 4. However all Chemdawg strains are know for their distinct, diesel-like aroma and flavor.

30. Blueberry

The Blueberry weed strain is pure stuff stoners like. Apparently Blueberry weed can be traced back to the late 1970s. It was created by DJ Short from a variety of exotic landrace strains. And of course Blueberry weed tastes like sweet, sun-ripened berries. No wonder it’s been used to create such berrylicious bud like the blueberry pie strain, Blue Magoo, Dutchberry (Dutch Treat X Blueberry) and the uber-popular Blue Dream. Connoisseurs and growers alike admire the Blueberry strain for its colorful hues and high THC content. If you dig purple weed, you’ll love this stuff, dude. We’re looking to review some Blueberry Kush. Apparently the Blueberry Kush strain originated in Oregon a Blueberry and OG Kush hybrid.

Cherry Pie Marijuana Strain from River City Wellness Collective
Cherry Pie Marijuana Strain from River City Wellness Collective

31. Cherry Pie

The Cherry Pie weed strain is a strong Indica. Just a slice or two of the Cherry Pie strain left our reviewer feeling calm, relaxed and without a care in the world. She said that the now famous Cherry Pie marijuana strain gave her a very cheerful, upbeat and kind of goofy high—she even found herself frequently breaking out into song singing Cherry Pie by Warrant. What exactly are the Cherry Pie strain genetics? Granddaddy Purple and Durban Poison. There are a few crosses out there touting the Cherry Pie strain genetics that sounds fantastic including Cherry Pie Kush, Cherry Kush or Cherry OG Kush. We reviewed some Phantom Cherry Pie (OG Phantom X Cherry Pie) that was pretty great. Anyhow if you dig sweet and tasty weed that’s hella stoney you’ll love Cherry Pie.

32. Khalifa Kush

Khalifa Kush, sometimes called Wiz Khalifa OG or Wiz Khalifa Kush, is a strain created specifically for the rapper Wiz Khalifa. Apparently the The ‘real’ Khalifa Kush is supposedly unavailable to the public. However, like most weed strains, it was eventually released into the wild. According to Leafly most stoners who’ve tried Wiz Khalifa Kush say that its effects and aromas are similar to that of OG Kush: sour lemon and pine, with an active cerebral buzz ideal for morning and daytime use.

33. LA Confidential

The LA Confidential weed strain is bred from the two Indica strains. Apparently the LA Confidential strain genetics are OG LA Affie and Afghani. Both strains are purebred which make for a very tasty and heavy Indica offspring. LA Confidential weed is a light seafoam green color bursting with lots of long orange hairs and covered in trichomes. When you break the bud open you uncover even more trichomes. The leaves are longer but look almost snow-capped because of all the frosty goodness. At first this strain smells mellow and almost minty with hints of spice and tea. When you break it open you are welcomed with a piercing piney scent. The taste? The LA Confidential weed strain tastes piney and goes down oh so smooth. And the high kicks in quick and is definitely a strong one—both psychedelic and super calming on the mind and body. LA Confidential is a great strain for any Indica lover. Check out our first LA Confidential strain review.

34. Strawberry Cough

Strawberry Cough weed has an overwhelming aroma of sweet ripe strawberries. The story behind the strawberry cough genetics is an interesting one. Apparently the Strawberry Cough strain got it’s name because the original breeder started with a strain called Strawberry Fields. The Strawberry Fields strain is a 100% Indica strain that originated in Vermont. Dude grew it for many years with his strawberry plants. Internet folklore states: He claimed that the original scent of strawberries was intensified in the weed because the plants were grown together. However the high wasn’t as cerebral as hoped. He took an outstanding Pure Haze male and crossed it with his best female flowering in his strawberry fields. These are essentially strawberry cough seeds, but not the clone that’s going around. The Strawberry Cough pheno clone was found in sorting through dozens of these seeds that were given to Kyle Kushman— a 5-time High Times Cannabis Cup winner, Instructor at Oaksterdam University, California-based cannabis consult and ex-cultivation writer for High Times mag. That’s why you’ll sometimes see this strain billed as Kyle Kushmans Strawberry Cough. Why’s it named Strawberry Cough though? The Strawberry part is obvious, however when it’s smoked, along with that summery strawberry flavor and aroma comes an expanding sensation that can make even the most seasoned consumer cough.

35. Alaska Thunder Fuck

Alaskan Thunder Fuck weed has many names and spellings. All vulgar and awesome: Alaska Thunderfuck, Alaskan Thunderfuck, Alaska Thunder Fuck, Alaskan Thunder Fuck. And for those who don’t dig profanity with their pot it’s been called Alaska Thunder and Alaskan Thunder. Because this weed strain hailes from the Matanuska Valley in Alaska it’s also been called Matanuska Thunder Fuck. No matter what it’s called Alaska Thunderfuck is a strong sativa that’ll get you high as fuck.

Out of all the 35 strains listed above which ones have you tried? Give us a quick review in the comment section below…

Man this list all fukked up! Where gorilla glue and Gelato!

  11. Dmitry

For me the #1 on the list was a slight letdown. I was setting my sights on OG Kush by Reserva Privada but could find only Dinafem’s version at the local growshop. She grew well but was quite tall and stretchy. The high is strong(ish) and lasts 3+ hours. However, for me the effect lacks character and isn’t much fun. I’d say it’s a medicinal daytime strain for those who want to smoke a little and remain functional.

  12. Soserthc1

Serious no list without chemdawg in the top 5 can be taken seriously …..

  13. Ranger

A lot of these buds are grown for medical purposes. Looks good… smells good… but there is no real high for us true stoners. I’ve smoked for 40 yrs now… come on people…. stone me stupid…????????.. I’m sorry…. but most of these strains I’ve tried.. not even a fucking buzz..!!!!!!
