Dr. Oz Blast Fox About The Hypocrisy Around Medical Marijuana And Opioids

dr oz marijuanaDr. Oz, everybody’s least favorite medicine man, advocated for medicinal marijuana on Fox News Tuesday morning. The ever so popular doctor appeared on the ever so conservative ‘Fox and Friends” promoting a recent interview with Ivanka Trump. It was something to do with her and postpartum depression—yada, yada, yada. The interview looks like it is going to wrap up when co-host Brian Kilmeade ties into the opioid epidemic: Oz, passionately interjects with,  “Can I just say something? The real story is the hypocrisy around medical marijuana.” Boom.

Watching the hosts squirm with darting eyes to anxious producers is pretty fucking funny. Before they can cut him off, Oz goes on: “People say marijuana is a gateway drug to narcotics; it may be the exit drug to get us out of the narcotic epidemic.”

“Wow,” said co-host Steve Doocy.

“We’re not allowed to study it because it’s a Schedule I drug,” Oz continued, speaking faster as he ran out of time. “And I personally believe it could help.”

“Hadn’t heard that before,” Doocy said.

The co- host of ‘Fox and Friends”, who just recently interviewed Chris Christie, the chair of the Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis, had never heard any information about marijuana being a Schedule I drug or about it’s possible benefits?

Interesting, very interesting. Props to Dr. Oz for getting the information out there and trying to focus on the real issues at hand. Pretty obvious some of the co-hosts at Fox could use his help.
