How to Handle a Hermie In Your Marijuana Garden

Hermies MarijuanaHow to Handle Hermies

This is the seventh week in flower for the indoor marijuana garden, including the Vision Seeds marijuana strain Chocoloco and several clones from her. We noticed on one of the clones that she had a male pollen sack. Technically this is a hermaphrodite or ‘hermie’ although we like to think that the marijuana plant knows there are no males around so she took it upon herself to generate some pollen and continue the genetic line.

The marijuana clones were taken when the mother was about 7 months old and at this point is about 10 months old, all in. She has about 4 weeks left and knows there is no pollen to be had but needs to continue her line, hence pollen sacks. We will probably get some selfed beans from her and these have a tendency to be predominantly female.

We know alot of you have this problem. It is not the end of the world if you are a home grower, it may have greater issues for commercial farmers though. FYI: The music is Lige Curry and the Naked Funk Project and the track is One Join (Island Funk). We hope you enjoy the show and please subscribe! All of our love from The Kitchen!
