Puffco Plus Vape Review

Say goodbye to metal coils and wiry wicks—the Puffco Plus utilizes an innovative ceramic bowl that leverages conduction and convection to deliver big ol’ tasty hits with a ton of style…

You’ve seen one vape pen, you’ve seen ‘em all, right? Well that’s not necessarily the case with the Puffco Plus vape. This one’s a bit more innovative. Most vape pens use metal coils or  that come in contact with your oil, burning this fuck out of it. But this one not only has a fat ceramic bowl the heating element is embedded in the bottom—so it never makes contact with your precious erl product. Sure you’ve seen this feature in other vaporizers, but have you seen one in a vape pen lately? And the Puffco Plus is pretty fucking sleek and stylish—and check out the little cloud-shaped button. How fuckin’ cool is that, eh?

The Puffco’s big ceramic bowl doesn’t contain any wires, wicks or metal coils—in fact there’s no metal anywhere near it. It’s been designed not only to hold a ton of concentrate, but also evenly heat it—leading to a nice tasty hit. Keep the bowl filled evenly and constantly and you’ll get a great tasting hit time after time—well at least as long as the battery holds out.

Puffco Plus and the Ceramic Dart

Another key difference in this vape pen is the removable ceramic dart mouthpiece in the cap. It minimizes splashback and keeps the oil where it needs to be—pressed up against the sides of the ceramic chamber. It also creates a sealed “conduction chamber” that directs the vapor upward through the cap. This is cool because the Puffco Plus heats your concentrate by conduction and convection. The dart is removable and also functions as a dabber—which is really cool.

puffco-vape-penThe Puffco Plus vape pen was easy to load. The cap has a quick screw feature for quick access to your oil. And it was easy to operate. Just click the cool-looking li’l cloud button four times to toggle between the pen’s three temperature settings. The cloud will shine differently colors depending on the setting. We chose the middle setting and found it to be perfect for crumble. For something a bit more viscous like BHO we’d recommend using the lower setting. The highest setting seemed fine as well, but we prefer to take long slow tasty hits over anything else. There’s also a “sesh mode” that allows you to operate the vape pen without having to hold down the button—it’ll convert your concentrates into cannabinoid-rich clouds for a continuous 12-seconds—definitely the best way to rock the Puffco pen.

Cleaning the Puffco Plus

The Puffco chamber is also pretty easy to clean. It’s packaged with a few cotton swabs that are perfect for the job. According to the Puffco site it’s best to warm the chamber by entering Sesh Mode for one cycle then use the swab to remove remaining byproduct in the chamber and on the Dart. Use the cotton swab to also clean the gold connector pins located on the top of the battery and on the bottom of the chamber. Oh and don’t put any rubbing alcohol in the chamber or on the Dart itself.

All in all we were fairly impressed with the Puffco Vape pen and have been using it with the concentrates we’ve been making from Our Source by ExactCraft. If you grow your own weed and aren’t really into making cannabutter or cannabis candy and shit with your shake and popcorn bugs want something a bit more potent—make your own concentrates dude and put ’em in a Puffco.
