COLORADO LEGALIZES MARIJUANA FOR RECREATIONAL USE

BOOM! COLORADO LEGALIZES MARIJUANA FOR RECREATIONAL USE. The Denver Post made the call at approximately 9:15 local time saying Amendment 64 has passed with 53% of the vote with 37%  reporting.

Amendment 64 looks to regulate marijuana like alcohol and removes both civil and criminal penalties for adults possessing up to an ounce of weed. It will also allow adults to grow up to six marijuana plants in an enclosed space. Tax revenues go to school construction and the state’s general fund.

This marks the beginning of the end of MARIJUANA PROHIBITION.

Amendment 64 led with 52.7 percent voting yes and 47.3 percent voting no, with 1,507,746 votes or more than 50 percent of active voters counted, according to the Colorado Secretary of State’s office. The office said 25 counties had reported.
