QUESTION: Mold on Marijuana. I have it. I’m a fairly new medical marijuana growing. I’m growing my cannabis indoors. I have six Purple Kush marijuana plants that are in their third week of flowering. Everything was going well, I thought, then today I noticed a light dusting of whitish-grey mold. I have a very good exhaust system. At least I think it’s a very good exhaust. Oh and I’m growing fully hydroponic in nothing but coco coir. Anyhow will mold on marijuana affect the THC? Is it okay to smoke moldy marijuana? i mean is it harmful for human’s to smoke or consume moldy weed. And since I’m already a few weeks into flowering what can I do to stop this nasty marijuana mold and keep it from coming back?

MEL THOMAS: It sounds like you have marijuana mold. It will affect the crop and personally I wouldn’t smoke it. The best thing to do is to cut out the mold as it will spread. You also need to address the problem itself by checking the humidity of your grow space. Humidity should be around 50% during flowering. Ensure you have a good exhaust system for the grow and circulate the air using office desk fans.
