What is hydroponic weed

What is hydroponic weed? Hydro marijuana is marijuana grown using water as the sole nutrient delivery system. No soil is used. Hydroponic weed is grown when the hydro weed is rooted in coco coir, expanded clay pellets, rockwool cubes or some other anchor media.

When it comes to hydro weed v soil-grown weed the potency differences could be debated forever. Even with hydroponic marijuana, the plant’s genetics are what will give you the potency.

How to grow hydroponic weed

Hydro growing can be cheap. Here’s how to grow hydroponic weed with the most minimal investment. All you need is a five gallon bucket from a hardware store; a lid for the bucket. If you can’t afford to buy the pre-molded lids specifically made for the Deep Water Culture (DWC) method of hydroponic weed growing, you will need to drill a hole in the bucket lid in which to put your marijuana plant, in a net cup, suspended in the nutrient rich water in the bucket. You will need an air stone and pump so you can keep the water in the bucket aerated for better delivery of the nutrients.

Regardless of the way you grow your hydro weed, you will need a ph meter — if you can keep the water between 5.8-6.3 ph you’re good.

Growing hydroponic weed

Growing hydroponic weed can deliver huge results relatively quickly. However hydroponic growing can be unforgiving. If something is wrong (ph is off, you messed up the nutrient formula, etc.) you can lose your entire crop in a matter of hours. There is no buffer as when you grow in dirt.
