On that fateful day, Martin was outside his dispensary on Ninth Street when a man, Cheasarak Chong, approached him without warning and fired multiple rounds at close range. Martin, ever the calm soul, was left bleeding on the pavement, but even as he fought for his life, he was surrounded by people rushing to help. We’re not surprised by this. Martin’s always been the guy who’d lend a hand to anyone in need—always looking out for the community he loves.

Martin survived. He walked out of the hospital just days after the incident, a living testament to strength and resilience. The man doesn’t know how to quit.
