A Golden State Cannabis Review

Our new buds from A Golden State Cannabis sent along some weed for us to review. Nothing’s cooler than when a box of weed arrives. It’s what makes writing about weed totally worthwhile—especially when it’s fire.

A Golden State Cannabis hails from Northern California’s Cascade Mountains area. They tell us that they started from humble beginnings, long before the cannabis renaissance, which always stokes us out.

“Our operation is forward-thinking and technically progressive, but our cultivation style remains true to our roots,” they say. “We water our plants with snowmelt which trickles down from Mount Shasta, and we grow in natural soil derived from coconut hulls, yielding consistently premium flower. Our knowledge as cultivators and connoisseurs has led us to produce highly distinct cannabis strains, each created for recreation, relaxation, sharing with friends, unwinding solo, or finding the right headspace for enjoyment.”

So what flavors did A Golden State send on over? A Hybrid called Caramel Apple and a beautifully colored Indica called Snow Dream. They also sent a hand-poured 100% soy wax vegan candle, a pretty dope gold-colored grinder with a clear section so you can see your ground-up weed, a really slick USB lighter, some branded rolling papers, and a hat pin, of course.

Snow Dream strain
Dang, this is some really pretty weed. It’s nicely frosted and has some really nice purple colors—which has always been a super popular staple here in Oakland. It was trimmed impeccably and arrived in completely opaque white jar. We dig that the jars don’t let any light in, but herb this pretty shouldn’t be hidden.

So the Snow Dream clocked in with 27.83% percent THC and had the following terpene profile: Limonene, Caryophyllene, Linalool, Myrcene, Humulene, and Pinene. Of course, it smells amazing, very earthy with really strong citrus and pine aromas. And it tasted even better. Plus it was very smooth on the exhale. This weed is definitely Stuff Stoners Like—tasty, stoney, and lots of bag appeal.

Caramel Apple strain
With a name like Caramel Apple, we couldn’t wait to dip into this hybrid. The jar was filled with smallish-sized nugs that were a really nice and vibrant shade of green with plenty of purple accents. We dig the smaller-sized nugs because they’re easier to toss in the grinder and bust up.

These nugs were nicely frosted with trichomes and pretty sticky to the touch. The aroma had hints of fruit like cherry and grape, of course, plus a little citrus. There was also some complex Earthy, maybe almost coffee-smells in there too. The listed terpene profile is: Limonene, Caryophyllene, Mycree, Linalool, Pinene, and Humulene

Did this Carmel Apple strain actually smell or taste like a real caramel apple? Well, maybe if you thought about caramel apple while you inhaled otherwise not really. But, it was delicious and fragrant never-the-less. And it contained 29.23% THC.

The bottom line
A Golden State cannabis from Northern California did not disappoint. The nugs they sent definitely looked, smelled, and tasted delicious—especially the Snow Dream. They were pretty high in THC and all nicely manicured. You wouldn’t be embarrassed at all pulling out these nugs in front of your friends and weed-snob frenemies.

A Golden State is definitely Stuff Stoners Like.
