The most recent Dutch Treat strain I have reviewed was from Doc Croc, and can be found here, so I won’t go into the usual genetics spiel. Here’s another Dutch Treat review, these buds were grown by Green Valley Society.
Appearance and Feel: This is some damn fine looking cannabis right here. I probably say that about all of these strains, but that’s the life when you review the good shit. The bag appeal as people are calling it, is nice. It’s got a lot of trichomes all over the bag, and when you open it, you can see the extent of the frost. The buds are dense with a lovely dark green tint to them, overwhelmed by that frosty trichome goodness. Like most Dutch Treat strains, this one has a great calyx to leaf ratio.
Smell: Open the bag and shove your nose right in there. I’m sensing that classic lemon lime Dutch Treat smell as it wafts out of the bag into my brain hole. There also seems to be a hint of spice, indicative of the caryophyllene terpene.
I just got a new Phoenician Engineering grinder to review, and the Dutch Treat is the first herb I’ve run through it. I have to say, after grinding up a little bit for a spliff, the lemon lime sweet smell is permeating. This grinder will now forever smell like it.
Flavor: Bong hits taste like some nice skunky bud, with a slight hint of that limonene terpene. There really isn’t much else for taste where bong hits are concerned. Just a good weed taste. It’s a little more pronounced when you smoke a joint or a spliff, as I tend to do, and it tends to be.
There’s just something about not filtrating your smoke through water that seems to retain a lot more taste. Who knows, maybe it’s all in my head.
High: This one is pretty mellow, and at just a hair over 15% THC content, there’s a good reason why. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad strain or anything like that, it just means that more of you newer smokers can have a taste of the Dutch Treat without getting your freshly activated Endocannabinoid systems completely flooded to that dick in the dirt status.
I like strains like this for puffing during the day. I find that the more I smoke extra high THC strains during the day, the more I feel a little on the burned out side when I get home. This could also have something to do with the fact that I work ten hours a day at the lab, then come home and get more work done for my own stuff. Keep moving, it’s a law of physics!
Overall: Joints are tasty, spliffs even more so. Bonghits will give you a nice mouthful of heady smoke. This Dutch Treat is pretty damn good. A strong 7 for sure. I would definitely recommend it for both the new and advanced weed smoker. For a classic strain that has a great Sprite like taste, you can’t go wrong with the Dutch Treat grown by Natural Mystic Farms. It’s stuff stoners like for sure.
