I find this one particularly interesting, as lately my reviews I’ve been sort of hating on the Kush strains. Not necessarily hating, but I’ve mentioned that I am learning I’m a big fan of kush buds. I think we may have found our exception. Animal Cookies has some pretty esteemed kush ancestry in it’s family tree.
You have the GSC, which is a cross of Durban Poison and OG Kush, then you have Fire OG, which is supposedly a cross of the famous San Fernando Valley OG Kush and regular good old fashioned OG Kush. So as you can see from the genetics, this is some serious kush bud. Animal Cookies has definitely changed my opinion on the kush family.
Appearance: This cannabis looks like some freaking FIRE. No doubt, when you take a look at any of the six strains I’ve reviewed (With the exception of the Bubba Kush), Grow Op Farms has their craft down to a science.

The jar of Animal Cookies I picked up was a one gram bud. I noticed the Space Queen was like that as well. It definitely makes it look a lot more burly and majestic in the jar all by itself. The bud has a cool pinecone looking shape to it that screams touch me, I’m sticky! I’m literally talking about trichomes on EVERYTHING. It’s all over my photobox from breaking the bud open.
Take a look at the pictures, they will show you what I’m struggling to find words to describe. The pistils have trichomes yo! Beautiful trimming job to whoever did this batch, it really looks ravishing. The calyx to leaf ratio is on point, and it has a lovely shade of green that makes my eyes smile. Did I mention the frost?
You would think this was Daytona Bike week with all those trikes everywhere. Trichomes that is. These buds are stiff and prickly, but not really because it’s weed. This is pretty much some weed you need to not only see for yourself, but feel for yourself.

Smell: All of the piney lemony, earthy, pungent skunky scents these notable kush strains are known for. Animal Cookies has them all, and it’s pretty profound. Break a bud open and jam your face right up in there. It’s ok, it won’t bite… much.
Flavor: It smells more than it tastes, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. We’re sort of at that crossroads with the kush for me it seems. You have one here that looks and smells amazing, but still has that kush taste I’m really not that fond of.
It’s not bad or anything, and a lot of people actually enjoy the kush, but for me, if you could get the animal cookies to taste like they smell, you would have me completely convinced that not all kush is meh.
With that being said, this is, so far, the best kush I’ve smoked in a long ass time, if not ever. If I could get this all the time, it would be my go to spliff smoke for sure. The way the Danish Export tobacco brings out the spicy piney lemon notes of the Animal Cookies is something to truly behold.
High: I saved the Animal Cookies for my wake and bake review session. I love starting days off like this. It really sets the tone for how the rest of the day is going to go. First off, for a strain that’s just over 20%, this is some stoney stuff stoners like. Head change as soon as the smoke got in me with a relaxing focused comfortable buzz throughout. Warm and tingly, the way bong rips first thing in the morning should be.
Overall: Every now and then I come across a strain that, when I’m done with my review, I wish I had more of. I’m nearing the end of this, and I’m looking at my jar, and I’m definitely wishing I had at least a few more grams of this crazy kush to play with. I also want to see if the rest of the buds look as good as the bud I got does. I’m so excited for you all to see these pictures. I gotta toss out a huge thanks to my barter faire festival friend Rachel from Lil Puma Studios who gave me the macro lens I finally figured out how to use. You can all thank her for the image quality going up.
I should also say, if you want me to focus more on certain things and less on others, just holler at me. I’m always open to suggestions and always accessible online. You may think I know what I’m doing, but I’m totally making this shit up as I go. I’m always open to ideas and feedback. I’ve almost reviewed 50 strains for Stuff Stoners Like, and I don’t plan on stopping any time soon. I’m here to please, so tell me what you want, and I’ll try to make it happen. In the meantime, be sure to follow me on Instagram and Twitter, and check out new episodes of the Hot Box podcast!

I’m finally starting to get the camera setup dialed in. It’s funny looking at my first weed reviews, then looking at these ones. Leveling up!

it would be cool if u reviewed some other farms. are u sponsored by growop or something?
mat
No, the reviews tend to come in batches. So I’ll get like four or five strains from one farm to review, then I’ll move on to another farm. It’s pretty much up to the farms. I’m definitely open to suggestions if you have a farm I should contact.

Grow Op Farms rocks! It’s all I smoke. Knocks my face off. You’ve gotta try the Pineapple.
mat
Funny you should say that. There should be a Golden Pineapple review getting published here any day now. Just wait until you see the pictures of it.

oh so u get the samples or something that they drop off to shops?
mat
sorry, just saw this comment. The shop gets a hold of me when they get new stuff in, and I go in, take a look, and buy what I want to review. I wish I got free samples. I should become a budtender so I can get in on some of that free sampling.
