Our new buds from Indicaloud sent us a box of some really beautiful looking Delta-8 products to review. Pretty cool, right—especially since this stuff is skyrocketing in popularity right now.
Our sample box came with quite a few hemp-derived goodies. They include Delta-8 THC Moonrocks and of course some Delta-8 THC flower. We also scored some Delta-8 THC gummies, a couple Delta-8 pre-rolls as well as a disposable vape pen and a cart.
Because Delta 8 THC might be a new concept to many of our readers we added some information about this new fangled cannabis product to this review. So feel free to skip that information and go right on down to the review section if you’re already hip to this stuff.
What is Delta-8 THC
Or course you’ve probably heard of THC. It’s known as The High Causer. Actually THC’s scientific name is delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, or delta-9 THC, or just delta-9. And it’s the compound in cannabis that delivers the high stoners all adore. Large amounts of this stuff are found in a majority of cannabis strains because for years that was the point.
Delta-8 is short for delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol, or delta-8 THC. It can cause effects similar to delta-9 THC like euphoria, happiness, sedation, symptom relief—but they will be much less intense.
Is Delta-8 THC legal
Currently, the legality of delta-8 is hazy. Nearly all delta-8 THC on the market today is manufactured from hemp-derived CBD, which makes it, in theory at least, part of a federally legal chain of origin. It can be extracted from cannabis as well. Because of the 2018 farm bill, hemp can be legally grown and used for extractions all over the United States, making delta-8 legal in states where delta-9 THC is illegal—sometimes.
People in states where THC is illegal who want cannabis products and are now looking to delta-8 because it may be legal in their state. eEven though it is less potent than regular THC—it’s better than nothing. So many hemp-based extractors are ramping up delta-8 production to meet this new demand. And one of them is Indicaloud.
Can I receive delta-8 in the mail
Delta-8 isn’t legal in all states, and different producers may choose not to ship to certain states because of its hazy legality. However, Depending on which state you live in, you can receive delta-8 in the mail. Producers typically ship delta-8 to all states except Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Idaho, Iowa, Mississippi, Montana, Rhode Island, Utah and New York. Unfortunately New York state has explicitly outlawed delta-8. Get free shipping on orders of $49 or more from our buds at Indicaloud—if you’re interested in trying this stuff without even having to leave the house. You can get this stuff delivered right to your door, man.
Will delta-8 get you high?
Delta-8 will get you high, but not as high as common delta-9 THC. For those living in states where cannabis is illegal, delta-8 may be a legal way to experience some THC-like effects from weed. It’s also probably a good thing for lightweights who are new to the weed scene or just don’t dig being super high.
Did this stuff get us high?
Well, we are daily smokers. Not just once a day either. We smoke all day long, every day. A practice that we’ve employed for decades. And we prefer really high THC strains. But flavor is also important too. So of course we were curious about this stuff just like you.
Did any of this Delta 8 THC stuff get us high? Yep. Definitely felt a nice head change and body relaxation when we smoked enough of this stuff. Your mileage may vary, however.
How is delta-8 made?
Delta-8 is found in trace amounts in weed and hemp plants. It’s is often sourced from hemp because that stuff is legal to grow anywhere in the US. It’s more readily available.
Typically CBD is extracted from hemp. It’s then refined into an isolate and then synthesized into delta-8. Because delta-8 requires more processing it’s more expensive to produce than CBD. Prices, of course, are affected by it’s high demand. We’re stoners, not economists so more demand probably means more competition which is probably a good thing when it comes to prices.
Will Delta-8 cause you to fail a drug test
Yep. Because common urine screens look for the presence of a THC metabolite, not the presence of active Delta-9 or Delta-8 THC. So Delta-8 presents the same challenges regarding drug testing because it shows up just as easily as ordinary ol’ Delta-9-THC.
So you’re out of luck. But you can use a detox product if you need some help passing a drug test. We always recommend Green Gone Detox. It’s an all-natural permanent THC cleanse unlike THC detox drinks which are typically “masking” agents—meaning they don’t physically pull THC metabolites out of your system permanently. Instead they decrease the concentration of metabolites found in your urine for a brief period through dilution.
Delta-8 THC Moonrocks review
What are Delta-8 moon rocks? No, we’re not talking about rocks brought back from some lunar mission. We’re talking about the strongest weed productrs ever, man. And no moon rock isn’t a strain. A moonrock or moon rock weed is quite simply a bud, dipped in hash oil, and then rolled in kief. Of course these things have been popular because they contain hella Delta 9 THC and are super potent. So a version that’s completely made from Delta 8 THC is pretty interesting.
Compared to Delta 9, this Delta 8 moon rock wasn’t nearly as potent. We’re so used to really potent pot products that we’re probably not the best judges of potency. Of course we took several bong hits and did feel a head change and a little in the body. Like we said above your millage will undoubtedly vary, but we really kinda dug the high. It wasn’t as stoney as usual, but more clear headed. Made us smile for sure.
We’ve seen and sampled a million buds and joints so reviewing the look, feel, aroma and taste of Delta 8 weed was easy for us because all those qualities are really important when it comes to weed of any variety. These Delta-8 moon rocks looked fantastic. They were completely covered in shiny trichomes which made them look delicious. In fact, they looked so good that they were the very first thing in the box that we tried. They were nice and sticky as we busted them up. They smelled musty and earthy and tasted a little spicy. The exhale was super smooth. Not bad, not bad at all.
Delta-8 THC Flower Review
These flowers contained 500 mg of Delta 8 THC. They were deep purple colored, but when we hit them with a flash to take a photo they looked bright green. The best part is that they were covered in trichomes and looked wet to the touch, which is something we adore. Of course they were really sticky, another thing we adore when it comes to the mighty herb.
They had a really wonderful distinctively fruity aroma filled with varying citrus notes, from lemon to lime to orange. They also had this earthy, almost wine-like smell to them as well. They tasted really nice, the fruit flavors came across really strong. They also tasted slightly earthy and the exhale was really smooth.
Delta-8 THC Gummies Review
We judged the edibles category for the High Times Cannabis Cup a year or two back. Many of the gummy entries had horrible textures. They looked to be melted and felt slimy. Unfortuantely they were the type of consistency that made you not want to touch them with your hands let alone plop them into your mouth.Suffice to say some of these gummy entries tasted just horrible.
The Indicaloud Delta-8 gummies felt like a normal gummy. It was covered in granulated sugar. It wasn’t too soft or too sticky and it tasted pretty good. In fact, we might finish off the whole box in one sitting because of the munchies. They were watermelon flavor and contained 300mg of Delta-8.
Delta-8 THC Pre-Rolls Review
Our sample box came with 2 nicely presented Delta-8 THC pre-rolls. Pre-rolled joints are really hit or miss because you can really see the weed in ’em. We also judged the pre-roll category for the High Times Cannabis Cup once. Sometimes it seems that pre-rolls are filled with hay and sometimes they’re so amazing that you don’t want to ever stop smoking it.
One of the Indicaloud Delta-8 THC pre rolls was called Maui Wowie. This is one of those strains that’s legendary. It’s also extinct. Years ago over zealous law enforcement officers eradicated this strain, according to our good friend and long-time Maui-based breeder Will Grinnel of Sticky Fingers Seeds. So of course this thing wasn’t filled with that old-school fiery Maui Wowie sativa strain, but it was filled with a Delta 8 THC take on it. And it didn’t disappoint. It tasted pretty nice. It did droop a little as it burned, however.
The other Delta-8 doober was filled with a strain called Ekto Kooler. What a great name. It brings back memories of Ghost Busters and juice boxes. Actually wasn’t there an Ekto Kooker juice box back in the day? Anyhow, this doober tasted good as well. It was really easy to smoke the entire thing in one sesh.
Delta-8 Vape Pen Review
Our sample platter also contained two Delta 8 vape products. The first was a disposable pen filled with a Delta 8 THC sativa strain called Cantaloupe Haze. The flavor was strong on this one. We could hit this all day long, and we did.
510 Delta-8 Vape Cart Review
We also got a 510 cartridge filled with a Bubba Kush Delta 8 Indica strain. And this one tasted really great as well.
Conclusion: Is Delta-8 Stuff Stoners Like
Because it’s far less potent than good ol’ Delta 9 THC we’ve come to love, at first when the opportunity to review Delta8 weed presented itself we were like, what’s the point?
But, the more we thought about it, and the more we happily smoked, ate, and vaped it—the more we realized that it’s pretty cool that Delta-8 THC products are so widely available. Why? Because Delta 8 THC is better than no THC. So this stuff is especially cool for people living in prohibition states. So in conclusion Delta 8 THC products, especially those made by Indicaloud—are hella Stuff Stoners Like!
